You can apply online to obtain a temporary driving licence or check its validity.

Beneficiaries of a temporary driving licence are those who have successfully passed the qualifications and behaviour tests (successful practical test) for the initial issuance or extension to another category of driving licence, as of Monday, 11 May 2020.

To issue or view a temporary licence, you will need your personal Taxisnet credentials.

If you think you are eligible for a temporary licence and such a licence is not available, select "Contact the Transport Directorate".

For the validation check, you will need either:

• the confirmation link of the temporary licence
• the confirmation code
• or the QR code

You can send the temporary driving licence electronically or print it and submit it in hard copy.
