You can apply to be exempted from the obligation to fulfil your military service if you are the only or the eldest son of parents who have died and have at least one sibling who is unmarried and minor or unmarried and unfit for any work.

When to apply:

• if you are a conscript: from the call for enlistment until the date of your enlistment in the Armed Forces. If the application is submitted at a later date, the exemption is granted if the conditions related to your person were met on the date of your enlistment
• if you are a private soldier, at any time after you enlistment
• if you are a draft evader or a deserter: after the discontinuation of your evasion or desertion

You will need:

• your personal Taxisnet credentials
• a certificate for military use issued by your municipality and attesting your family status, and a court decision in the case of judicial declaration of parentage.
