You can apply for postponement of your conscription in the Armed Forces if:

• you have been called to enlist due to an initial call-up for your class (if you are 19 years of age)
• on the date on which you are required to enlist in the Armed Forces, you are signed on as a seaman on a merchant ship of more than 1,000 tonnes, flying a Greek or foreign flag which is insured with the Seamen's Pension Fund (NAT).

When to apply:

The supporting documents need to be submitted within six (6) months from the date of enlistment. If these documents are submitted later, the enlistment postponement is only granted if the conditions applied on the date of enlistment.

• your personal Taxisnet credentials
• a certificate or attestation from the competent department of the Ministry of Shipping and Insular Policy or from the Greek consular authority.
