If you are a citizen of a third country, you can apply exclusively online to renew your residence permit or residence card. The application can also be filed by your attorney at law.

You will need:

• enter your mobile phone number
• your email address
• the code of the paid fee, where required
• to attach supporting documents, as required on a case-by-case basis

If the application is being filed by your attorney, the relevant authorisation of the attorney needs to be uploaded online to the application form of the third country national.

Upon successful filing of the application, you will receive in your e-mail:

• proof of submission of the application
• a document serving as a certificate, as set forth in paragraph 4, article 9, of Law 4251/2014 ("Blue certificate")

The authenticity of the details of the certificate is carried out through a search in the Electronic Process of the File of a Third-Country National.

This certificate automatically ceases to be valid if a decision to grant a residence permit or a decision to reject your application is issued.

Then, you will receive, exclusively by email:

• a notice for taking your biometrics
• a notification of the decision taken
