Receive extraordinary financial aid (for the long-term unemployed)

If you are a long-term unemployed person and you are not subsidised, you can receive the one-off financial aid, amounting to €250.

You are entitled to the aid if you are registered with the Public Employment Service (DYPA) and if:

  • on 30.11.2022 you would have accumulated more than twelve (12) and up to twenty-four (24) months of continuous unemployment time, as recorded in the register of unemployed persons of the DYPA

  • you are not entitled to any other type of benefit, allowance, assistance or aid from the DYPA, with the exception of benefits from social and housing policy programmes

  • you are not entitled to the Guaranteed Minimum Income, to the financial benefits to persons with disabilities, or to the Child Allowance

  • your annual total family income for tax year 2021 does not exceed 14,000 Euros (for singles, widowed or separated persons), 20,000 Euros (for couples and registered partnerships). These limits are increased by 3,000 Euros for each child or to 23,000 Euros for single parents, and by an additional amount of 3,000 Euros for each child after the first child.

  • on 16.12 (from 00.00 to 23.59): by citizens whose Tax Identification Number (AFM) ends in 2, 3, 4 and 5
  • on 17.12 (from 00.00 to 23.59): by citizens whose Tax Identification Number (AFM) ends in 6, 7, 8 and 9
  • from 18.12 (00.00) to 19.12 (07.00): the platform will be open for submission of applications by all citizens, regardless of the last digit of their Tax Identification Number (AFM).
