You can apply for registration and re-registration of babies or infants at the 27 nurseries of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) for the school year 2023-2024.

(You are entitled to apply if you are the parent(s) or guardian(s) (surrogate parents, legal guardians, etc.) of beneficiary children who:

• During the years 2023-2024, have completed a total of 25 days of insurance at eEFKA and/or of special maternity protection benefit and/or of regular unemployment subsidy and/or of long-term unemployment subsidy, or
• Have been included in the DYPA Register of Unemployed Persons for a minimum of 2 months on the application deadline date, or
• are entitled to receive unemployment benefit for self- or independently employed insured persons (OAEE, formerly ETAP-MME, ETAA).

You will need your personal Taxisnet credentials.

After the application procedure has been completed, a provisional list of selected babies and infants will be posted. The beneficiaries may submit objections within 3 days.

Privately owned DYPA nurseries operate from 1 September to 31 July, from 6:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and are intended to host babies and infants, aged from 6 months to 4 years old.

A daily programme of creative activities is being implemented aiming at the children's harmonious psychosomatic and educational development. The selection criteria are financial (priority is given to children with low-income parents) and social (children of large families, orphans, children of single-parent families, children of disabled parents, etc.).

In Attica, the Municipalities of Acharnon, Aghia Varvara, Ano Liosia, Elefsina, Keratsini, Moschatos, Olympic Village, Peristeri and Haidario operate VNS, while in the rest of Greece they operate in the cities of Agrinio, Arta, Drama, Igoumenitsa, Ioannina, Kavala, Kalamata, Karditsa, Karpennisi, Komotini, Larissa, Messolonghi, Naoussa, Xanthi, Patras, Pylaia, Thessaloniki, Serres and Trikala.
