Replace your electric water heater with a solar one

You can apply for vouchers to recycle your old energy-intensive electric water heater and replace it with a new solar one, by joining the programme "Anakiklono - allazo thermosifona".

To participate:

  • you have to be born before 1 January 2006
  • you must have submitted an income tax return (E1) in tax year 2021, which has been cleared
  • you and the members of your household as depicted in your income tax return (E1), were residents in Greece in 2021
  • the average annual income per family member for the year 2021 does not exceed EUR 30.000
  • you haven't apply for a solar water heater funding to another programme.

The procedure steps:

  1. You can submit one application per tax identification number (AFM) and for only one of your properties (main residence or summer house).
  2. Your application will be assessed against the programme criteria and ranked among the rest.
  3. If your application is approved, you will receive programme vouchers. The vouchers cover part of the total cost for the purchase of the appliance and any associated services (installation, etc.).
  4. You can buy the appliance and ask for any associated service from subsidied suppliers participating in the programme.

You will need your personal Taxisnet credentials.

To recieve the voucher, the merchant from whom you bought the new solar water heater needs to collect your old electric one (of at least 40 litres capacity).

Online applications will be gradually available to potential beneficiaries, based on the last digit of their AFM, as follows:
11/5/2023: AFM ending in 1,2
12/5/2023: AFM ending in 1,2,3,4
13/5/2023: AFM ending in 1,2,3,4,5,6
14/5/2023: AFM ending in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
15/5/2023: AFM ending in 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0
Applications for all AFM will remain open until Tuesday 20 June 2023 at 15: 00

If your application is rejected, you can file an objection. You can submit it by e-mail within seven (7) calendar days, starting on the day following the notification of the provisional results.

To have your objection examined, you need to include:

  • the unique code of your online application, for identification purposes;
  • your tax identification number (AFM);
  • supporting evidence for any calculation errors.
