If you are a citizen of a third country, you can apply exclusively online for the issue of your first residence permit in the country.

The application may be filed by:

• your attorney at law
• the parents or guardians of minor protected members of your family
• the parents of minor Greek citizens

The reasons for issue an initial residence permit vary and you therefore need to first select the category you belong to and then proceed with the application.

You will need to:

• enter your mobile phone number
• enter your email address
• enter the code of the paid fee, where required
• attach the supporting documents, as required on a case-by-case basis

If the application is being filed by your attorney, the relevant authorisation of the attorney needs to be uploaded online to the application form of the third country national.

Upon successful filing of the application, you will receive in your e-mail:

• proof of submission of the application
• a document serving as a certificate, as set forth in paragraph 4, article 9, of Law 4251/2014 ("Blue certificate")

The authenticity of the details of the certificate is done through a search in the Electronic Process of the Third Country Citizen's File.

This certificate automatically ceases to be valid if a decision to grant a residence permit or a decision to reject your application is issued.
