If you are the parent or guardian of a minor child and thus hold parental responsibility, you can apply to register your child's first name.
The process steps are as follows:
- one of the two parents/guardians initiates the process by declaring the first name(s) of the child and the second parent/guardian (if any)
- if you are the second parent/guardian, you need to log in to the service, co-sign and file the name declaration
- your application is examined by the Registry Office of your child's place of birth.
- At a later date, you will receive the updated extract of the birth registration certificate of your child in your Inbox . In case of a negative reply in the Inbox, you will see the reason for the unsuccessful completion of the process.
You will need:
- either your personal internet banking credentials or your personal Taxisnet credentials (after first registering in the National Communication Register (EMEP), to confirm your mobile phone number)
- the Tax Identification Number (AFM) and the name of the second parent / guardian (if any), if you jointly hold parental responsibility
