Declare the baptism of a child

You can declare your child's baptism to record the child's religion in the Citizens' Register.

The baptism declaration process is optional. Your child's name is determined exclusively by the process of child naming ; it is recommended that you complete this process first.

The declaration can be made by:

  • one of the two parents / guardians
  • one of the foster parents
  • any relative of the child up to the third degree of kinship

You will need to:

  • enter either your personal web banking codes or your personal Taxisnet credentials (after first registering in the National Communication Register (EMEP), to confirm your mobile phone number)
  • know the details of the birth registration certificate (number, volume, year) and date of birth of the child, if you are the foster parent or a relative of third degree
  • attach the document confirming your child's religion

The process will be completed after it has been examined by the Registry Office of your child's birth; you will get, at a later date, the extract of the child's birth registration certificate in your Inbox . In case of a negative reply in your Inbox, you will see the reason for the unsuccessful completion of the process.

If you want to get a full birth registration certificate, listing also your child's religion, you need to book an online appointment on myKEPlive so as to be served by an employee of the Citizens' Service Centres via video conference.
